Top TenWaysTo Add Asian Decor To Your Space

If you’re looking for an exciting and dashing way to bring foreign charm to your bedroom, or to impress your guests with a relaxing dining experience, Asian home decoris the way to go. It’s almost effortless to turn your room into a great Asian getaway.

1) Take away any clutter. A cluttered space will take away from the inherent beauty of each item used, so Asian spaces are typically decorated in a clean and tidy fashion. Each piece of decor should have a space in which it will not be influenced by other pieces near it.

2) You want to try to find a way to balance out the space you’re adorning. Feng Shui is a popular design philosophy, and it’s all about balancing the positive and negative energies in your house. Balance is a desirable trait in this type of decor, but it’s not necessary to only observe symmetry when you attempt to achieve it. Try also factoring in shape, color, size and function. Try experimenting to ensure that each item you use to decorate is in its ‘best’ location.

3) Get a bonsai tree. A bonsai tree is a great way to add a fresh bit of Asian decor. Watch out, because some bonsai can take a lot of time and attention. You can find a decent selection of fake bonsai trees if you don’t have the time to properly care for a real one.

4) Add a small water fountain. Water fountains are a mainstay of Feng Shui design. Fountains are a great way to incorporate a relaxing atmosphere, and green water is easily averted by adding a tiny amount of bleach.

5) Use red paint. Paint the space you want to turn “Asian” red. Red is classic in Asian design, and it easily accents any other items you use. If painting an entire room is either “too much color” for you, or out of your budget, consider painting just one wall as a red accent wall.

6) Get a small gong. If you’re looking for the perfect piece to place on your mantle, look no further than a small gong. Plus, they’re fun to ring every now and then!

7) Paper Fans make wonderful wall décor. The perfect paper fan won’t be difficult to find, since they come in a range of sizes.. This way, you can find the perfect size for your space without being overwhelming.

Look for Oriental items from a flea market or thrift store. Delightful treasures and trinkets await if you can tolerate hunting around for them.

9) Accent with bronze. Bronze is an age-old classic in Oriental art, so including it in your decor will really sell the overall design. Just remember to keep it simple.

10) Put a sake set or tea set on display. If you’re not a fan of these Asian drinks, it’s still just fine to display Asian dinnerware because they can be so finely decorated. Your guests need never know that you don’t use them!
