Transforming The Children Room
You’ll know when your child is not a baby anymore. He may be feeling moody about the decor of the baby’s room he’s using. Transforming the nursery into a room where a growing boy or girl will feel welcome is a great project for you. Your child has more needs now that he’s growing up. This is particularly true if your child is in middle school. Read on for more tips…
This project is not necessarily expensive. For a more frugal option, decide which furniture you can build yourself and which ones to buy. You can DIY almost anything these days, with kits for loft beds, bed frames, cabinets and study tables available in almost all hardware shops. The good news is that you can do this in one weekend.
Choose space saving furniture and appliances to allow your child to add some more stuff when he reaches high school. He will need space for his toy collection, and more space to entertain his friends.
Loft Beds
A loft bed is the best option if you want to create a study nook for your child inside his room. Get a loft bed kit and start planning where you will position the bed inside the room. You may have to assemble the pieces of the loft bed inside the room if you’re using a kit.
In most cases, parents will install remote control ceiling fan as a sleeping solution.
Foldable Chairs and a Table
Childhood friends and classmates will be dropping by after school or during the weekends. This is the main reason why you should think of socialization when renovating your child’s room. You can install folding tables and chairs for this purpose. This is also to conserve floor space just in case the kids want to sit in front of the console or create their projects on the floor.
Study Table and Computer Table
Your child’s room must have to types of desks, one for studying, and another for the computer. Your kid might prefer his own work table for doing homework or coloring instead of the dining room table. Because of this, a separate table for homeworks is recommended.
Ventilation
Thin-blade ceiling fans are recommended for better ventilation. Save the large, ornate types for the living room. Quiet fans that provide ventilation unobtrusively are great for a child’s room. The remote control ceiling fan can also be a good consideration.
Give your child the freedom to express himself by letting him choose some decorative items for his walls. Let him mount posters of his favorite artists or cartoon characters.
