If an old chair looks out of place in the room full of modern pieces, you can have it upholstered. Adding fabric to your rustic pieces will make them look more beautiful. A few yards of pretty fabric with a uniform design can make a difference in your lodge decor. Color can either unify the room or make it look more messy.
One reality that you have to deal with is that rustic furniture is more susceptible to damage than modern types. Be very realistic when it comes to the things you place together. Some furniture pieces can function without a part, like beds without their headboards. But a chest with a damaged drawer needs more work.
